Peter Bui plans to add Midnight privacy to the escrow infrastructure he is developing on Cardano. In his TOKEN2049 recap, he outlined how conversations with founders and investors in Singapore reinforced his plans to expand across blockchain networks and give other developers a platform on which to build.
Cardano Escrow Expands Its Development Scope
Bui discussed his escrow platform with other founders and investors during the conference. According to his account, they understood the concept, encouraged him to continue, and considered how it could fit into their own solutions.
“I do have to go multi chain at some point, so I’m gonna go multi chain early,” he explained.
His earlier work through Moshi Concepts introduced Hokan as programmable escrow infrastructure with an initial focus on Cardano. Escrow holds funds until agreed conditions are met, then releases them according to the arrangement’s rules. Hokan’s intended uses include digital commerce, stablecoin payments, and transactions involving AI agents.
The latest update brings earlier support for multiple networks and Midnight privacy into that development direction.
Midnight Brings Privacy Into the Escrow Plan
Bui connected his decision to add privacy with a workshop presentation in which Charles Hoskinson discussed private escrow. He identified it as a capability he could incorporate into the infrastructure already under construction.
Midnight enables applications to verify conditions while keeping sensitive information private. In his conference recap, Bui emphasized the ability to control disclosure, describing financial activity that remains private while relevant information can be verified by authorized parties.
That combination shaped his interest in using Midnight for escrow. He described adding the privacy layer as a natural fit for the platform and confirmed that both privacy and expansion across networks form part of his ongoing work.
Demonstration Products for AI Agents
Bui plans to build several demonstration products to show what developers can do with the infrastructure. Users would be able to experiment with their own AI agents, explore the examples, and develop applications on top of the platform.
The demonstrations would connect the underlying escrow system with working products that other teams can examine and use as a starting point. Bui’s target is to have a functional version available for those experiments before the end of 2026.
