Cardano News - DRep Council Develops Tool to Review Cardano Treasury Proposals

DRep Council is developing a template and an AI-assisted tool to help review requests for funding from the Cardano Treasury. Council member Jaromír Tesař introduced the initiative, which draws on past proposals and the explanations delegated representatives provided for their votes.

The tool is in an experimental phase. DReps can view assessments of active Treasury requests, while applicants can use it to review proposals before submitting them on-chain.

Template Draws on Previous Treasury Decisions

Delegated representatives, or DReps, vote on Cardano governance actions, including requests to withdraw funds from the Treasury. DRep Council is a group of representatives that works on governance initiatives and proposal assessment.

According to Tesař, the Council analyzed previous Treasury withdrawals and the voting explanations published alongside them. The work examined what DReps expected proposals to address and which factors influenced their decisions.

The resulting template contains questions for applicants seeking Treasury funding. Tesař explained that Council members expect submitters to use it, although DReps cannot make it mandatory.

Three Assessments for Cardano Funding Requests

The tool uses a large language model to check whether a proposal answers the questions in the Council’s template. It also applies a version of the Triangle Forces framework adapted for Cardano, which examines proposals through an additional set of questions.

The framework was created by Jürgen Proschinger, a DRep and Council member. A third assessment considers how a proposal aligns with Cardano Vision 2030.

Tesař emphasized that a high score does not guarantee a strong proposal. The model checks whether questions have been addressed; DReps remain responsible for evaluating the answers and verifying the facts before voting.

Applicants Can Review Proposals Before Submission

The Council has made results for active Treasury withdrawal requests available to DReps. Applicants can also use the scoring tool to examine a proposal before submitting a governance action on-chain.

The template and tool are still being refined ahead of their official release. DRep Council has invited community feedback on the questions and prompts used in the assessments.
