Cardano News - Angry Crypto Reviews RealFi’s Ethereum Plans and Cardano DeFi Activity

Angry Crypto Show founder Alexander Nadem has highlighted RealFi’s planned Ethereum expansion and trading activity on Strike Finance in a review of developments across the Cardano ecosystem.

The video also covers the Cardano Foundation’s membership in a Swiss tokenization association and the security questions raised by the Binance hack.

RealFi Plans to Expand Beyond Cardano

Nadem drew on an earlier CoinDesk interview with RealFi Chief Business Officer Seny Orlov to discuss the project’s products and expansion plans.

RealFi launched on Cardano mainnet on October 1. Its USDrf token is designed to track the US dollar, while users can stake it to receive sUSDrf and gain exposure to returns from the project’s portfolio.

Orlov described a portfolio that includes private credit and liquid instruments. In the October interview, he reported that a recent distribution represented an annualized yield of more than 12%, calculated from the return during that period. RealFi distributes yield weekly.

The executive also outlined plans to launch on Ethereum and work with curators and DeFi strategists on vault products for institutions and family offices interested in holding sUSDrf. Nadem argued that access to Ethereum’s DeFi market could help RealFi increase the value held in its products.

His review also covered RealFi’s use with Liqwid, a Cardano lending protocol. Nadem described a leveraged looping strategy in which a user repeatedly supplies and borrows assets to increase exposure.

Strike Finance and Tokenized Assets on Cardano

Nadem reported that Strike Finance had surpassed $1.9 billion in cumulative trading volume, three million trades and 7,000 unique traders. He also cited Token Terminal data indicating that RealFi had issued more than $8.5 million in stablecoins and tokenized funds on Cardano, up approximately $100,000 over the preceding week.

Alongside those figures, Nadem discussed the Cardano Foundation’s membership in the Capital Markets and Technology Association, or CMTA. The Swiss association develops standards for the use of blockchain in capital markets.

He connected the membership with CMTA’s recognition of a Cardano implementation linked to CIP-0113, which supports programmable rules for native assets. The recognition applies to a specific implementation under the association’s tokenized shares certification framework. Individual issuances must still satisfy the framework’s conditions.

Binance Incident Renews Security Discussion

Nadem also reviewed Binance’s response to the security incident, focusing on the exchange’s communication with users and its commitment to cover losses. Binance estimated the impact of the breach at approximately $6.3 billion and reported that around $3 billion in assets had been frozen as its investigation continued.

The incident prompted Nadem to revisit Charles Hoskinson’s comments on formal methods and software security. Formal methods use mathematical techniques to specify or verify properties of a system. In the video, Nadem connected that approach with Midnight’s development and Hoskinson’s earlier discussion of defenses against emerging threats.

Nadem also discussed cooperation among exchanges and other organizations to restrict the movement of affected assets. Binance’s response included work with law enforcement, token issuers and blockchain intelligence firms to trace assets and secure additional freezes.
