Crypto Dossier Examines ADA Wallet Security After Binance Hack
The creator argues that Cardano’s transaction model and wallet controls may help explain why ADA was absent from his list of affected assets. Binance has not confirmed the wallet configuration he describes.

Crypto Dossier has examined the security of Binance’s Cardano wallets following the exchange’s $6.3 billion hack. In a new video, he connects his analysis to multisignature controls and the differences between Cardano and Ethereum-compatible networks.
The creator maintains that ADA and NIGHT were not among the assets stolen in the incident. He presents his explanation as an assessment based on the information available at the time of recording, while Binance continues its investigation.
Crypto Dossier’s Account of the Binance Attack
Binance reported that its internet-connected hot wallets were compromised on October 29, resulting in the loss of approximately $6.3 billion in digital assets. Hot wallets support exchange operations, including the processing of withdrawals.
In his video, Crypto Dossier lists Ethereum, Bitcoin, Tron, Solana and several other networks among those with affected Binance wallets. He argues that the absence of ADA and NIGHT from his account of the stolen assets warrants a closer look at how Cardano transactions are authorized.
Binance’s initial investigation suggested that a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop may have enabled an attacker to access a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. The exchange later identified additional points of breach and reported that it had found no evidence of leaked wallet private keys.
Multisignature Wallets and Cardano’s Transaction Model
Crypto Dossier focuses on Cardano’s extended unspent transaction output model, known as eUTXO, and scripts that can require multiple signatures before funds are spent.
A multisignature arrangement establishes conditions that a transaction must satisfy, such as approval from a specified number of keys. Cardano scripts can also include time conditions. Multisignature controls are available beyond Cardano, and their effectiveness depends on the configuration and management of the keys involved.
The creator describes Binance’s Cardano wallets as requiring two keys, with one held separately and offline. In the setup he outlines, access to one key would not be sufficient to authorize a transfer. He connects that explanation to his claim that ADA was not stolen during the incident.
Binance has not confirmed the specific configuration he describes or identified it as the reason ADA was absent from the affected assets in his account.
Crypto Dossier also compares Cardano with networks compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, or EVM. He argues that their shared technology could make similar attack methods applicable across multiple networks, while Cardano uses a different transaction model. He also acknowledges that compatibility can make it easier for developers and liquidity to move between EVM ecosystems.

Security, Decentralization and ADA
The video builds on Crypto Dossier’s earlier discussion of Cardano’s decentralization and its network of independent stake pool operators. He argues that security could receive greater attention as cyberattacks become more frequent and artificial intelligence develops.
He also considers the market reaction to the Binance incident. Based on his claim that no ADA was stolen, he argues that the attacker would not be adding selling pressure by disposing of ADA taken in this particular hack.
Crypto Dossier notes that his account of the attack relies on information available during the investigation. Binance has committed to covering the financial impact through its Secure Asset Fund for Users and company funds, and plans to publish a technical post-mortem once its findings are verified.
