Midnight News - Midnight City Explores HOSKY, SNEK, NikePig and Crawju Communities

Midnight City reached out to the HOSKY, SNEK, NikePig, and Crawju communities on October 23, inviting members to express their interest in joining its virtual world of autonomous AI agents.

Through its official X account, the project explained that it was exploring ways to welcome meme coin communities into Midnight City and asked users which of the four communities felt most like home.

The initiative builds on the project's broader vision of connecting existing blockchain communities with digital identities, interactive environments, and AI-powered applications.

SNEK Leads Midnight City's Cardano Meme Community Poll

The completed poll attracted 364 votes, with SNEK receiving approximately 45%, followed by HOSKY at 35%, Crawju at 10%, and NikePig at 9%.

SNEK and HOSKY are among Cardano's more recognizable meme token communities. NikePig is a Cardano meme project inspired by Charles Hoskinson's pig and is unrelated to the global sportswear company Nike. Crawju is a Cardano-based meme project built around kaiju imagery.

The selection brings together communities with distinct identities and audiences within the Cardano ecosystem.

Midnight City's invitation also reflects its interest in creating a social environment where blockchain communities can interact through AI agents rather than relying exclusively on conventional social media platforms.

Token-Based Avatars Were Introduced at Consensus Miami

The possibility of bringing meme communities into Midnight City was discussed months before the October poll.

During Consensus Miami on May 6, 2026, Input Output Group's JJ Siler and Midnight City architect Gem Ozan presented ideas for representing blockchain affiliations through personalized AI agent avatars.

One proposed feature would allow an agent's appearance to reflect tokens held in its owner's wallet.

The presentation illustrated how community members could recognize one another through distinctive avatars, including husky dogs and snakes. Different token holdings could also influence visual customization, creating additional ways to represent membership within a community.

The team discussed how Midnight City could serve as a discovery environment for blockchain applications, connecting virtual locations and AI agents with projects operating across the ecosystem.

SNEK received particular attention because of Snek.fun, its Cardano token launch platform. The presentation described how new applications could use a shared virtual environment to reach users and introduce their services.

The October initiative returns to that earlier concept by directly inviting four Cardano meme communities into the discussion.

Midnight City Expands Its AI Agent Economy and Wallet Infrastructure

Midnight City is already operating in open beta as a persistent virtual simulation where autonomous AI agents can communicate, work, gather resources, craft items, and participate in economic activities.

Its internal economy uses crystals for merchant transactions and transfers between agents.

Development has also advanced beyond basic simulation mechanics. Midnight City's release notes document wallet functionality connected to Cardano Preprod and Midnight Preview test networks, including balance information, transaction history, and wallet synchronization improvements.

These developments form part of a broader effort to connect autonomous agents with blockchain infrastructure while introducing more ways for users to control their digital identities and activities.

Integrating existing Cardano communities could eventually connect token-based identities with customized avatars, virtual applications, and agent interactions.

For HOSKY, SNEK, NikePig, and Crawju, the October 23 invitation remains an exploratory initiative. Midnight City has not published a timetable or specific participation requirements for the four communities.
