RealFi has announced that its platform is scheduled to arrive on Cardano mainnet on October 1, 2026. Its Pioneer Season test campaign will remain open until the planned launch.
According to figures reported by the project, the testnet has attracted more than 3,600 users and recorded over 40,000 quest actions. RealFi described those participation figures as preliminary estimates that may change as its measurement methods evolve.
RealFi Continues Pioneer Season Until Mainnet
Pioneer Season began on July 6, allowing users to test the platform’s core functions before its mainnet deployment. Available activities include swapping test tokens, staking, unstaking and claiming rewards connected to the program.
The team said the remaining test period will be used to assess results, incorporate community feedback and prepare the production release. RealFi described the decision to continue Pioneer Season until mainnet as deliberate and not the result of a major issue or setback.
Further information about launch week and changes affecting Pioneer participants will be released closer to October 1.
USDr and sUSDr Connect Cardano DeFi With Real-World Assets
RealFi is developing two connected products. $USDr is a US dollar-denominated stablecoin, while $sUSDr is a receipt token obtained by staking USDr. Its exchange value is designed to increase as returns from the underlying reserve portfolio are distributed.
According to project documentation, USDr will not be backed exclusively by cash and US Treasury bills. The proposed portfolio includes tokenized government instruments and money market funds, alongside floating-rate corporate bonds and short-term private credit.
sUSDr is structured as a junior risk tranche that absorbs portfolio losses before holders of the base stablecoin are affected. Returns are variable and not guaranteed, while the documentation also describes a seven-day unstaking cooldown.
The model is designed to bring yield sourced from real-world credit markets into Cardano DeFi. RealFi lists Liqwid, SundaeSwap and Pulse as designated venues for post-mainnet activity.
Access and Security Details Remain Pending
RealFi states that users should be able to exchange USDC or ADA for USDr through partner decentralized exchanges after launch and then stake it. Under the current documentation, direct issuance and redemption are reserved for verified institutional participants, while retail users would exit through supported DEX markets.
Access will require KYC or KYB verification and wallet whitelisting at the smart contract level. RealFi currently excludes users located in the United States, the European Union and European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
The project has not yet published official Cardano mainnet policy IDs, a named reserve custodian, a proof-of-reserves report or a completed security audit. RealFi said in July that smart contract audits were underway, but the auditor and final report remain unpublished.
The launch-week release is expected to define the supported DEX venues, available user functions, initial reserve composition and security status of the production contracts scheduled for October 1.
