Cardano News - Intersect Administers 74M ADA in Cardano Treasury Payments

Intersect has reported a new milestone in Cardano’s 2026 treasury execution, with 16 contracts now funded and another nine moving through final procurement. The organization is serving as treasury withdrawal administrator, handling the operational process that follows governance approval.

Sixteen Cardano Treasury Contracts Are Funded

The figures were published in Intersect Weekly Update #128 on September 11.

Under the 2026 Treasury Reserve Smart Contract framework, Intersect has administered 74 million ADA to vendors. Another nine contracts are expected to move into funding once their remaining procurement requirements are completed.

The update also reported 22 million USDCx administered to vendors alongside ADA-denominated treasury funding.

The 16 funded contracts represent projects that have moved from approved treasury withdrawals into active agreements, where payments are tied to defined contractual requirements and delivery milestones.

Intersect Handles Treasury Administration

Intersect does not determine which projects receive Cardano treasury funding. Those decisions are made through Cardano’s governance and budget processes.

Once funding is approved, Intersect’s administration service handles vendor onboarding, legal agreements, smart contract setup, milestone management, deliverable verification and reporting.

The Treasury Reserve Smart Contract framework provides the on-chain infrastructure for holding and distributing funds, while an Oversight Committee adds an additional control layer around treasury administration.

The model separates funding authorization from execution. Governance approves the use of treasury resources, while the administration framework converts those approvals into enforceable agreements and structured payments.

Cardano’s 2026 Budget Enters Active Delivery

The latest figures put a concrete number on the portion of Cardano’s 2026 budget that has already progressed into funded work.

Sixteen vendor contracts are active, and nine more are completing procurement before their funding begins. From that point, individual projects continue through their own milestone and delivery schedules.

That shifts attention from how much funding Cardano governance approves to how much approved work actually reaches execution.

With 74 million ADA already administered and another nine contracts approaching funding, the 2026 treasury cycle is increasingly being measured through active contracts, completed milestones and vendor delivery rather than governance votes alone.
