Crow Trader Tests Live ADA Strategies
Crow Trader now supports backtesting, paper trading and limited live execution. Jason Appleton is testing several ADA strategies, while TradingView automation and a machine learning module remain under development.

Jason Appleton, known as Crypto Crow, has demonstrated the current Crow Trader rebuild running paper and live cryptocurrency strategies. The presentation included configurations for ADA and a small balance used to test real orders.
Appleton said the product is not yet ready for wider use and is currently receiving between four and five updates per day.
Crow Trader Runs Paper and Live Strategies
Crow Trader is a desktop application that allows users to configure and test automated trading strategies before connecting them to real funds.
Appleton showed four paper trading setups and three strategies connected to live trading. The configurations included a grid bot, two Bollinger Bands strategies and his EMA crossover strategy.
Several paper configurations used Cardano trading pairs. Appleton allocated approximately $400 to live testing while collecting data on how the bot interacts with exchange endpoints.
The demonstration also exposed an unresolved issue. One setup repeatedly returned funds to a stablecoin balance without a clear reason, which Appleton said he still needs to investigate.
Backtesting and TradingView Shape the Workflow
Crow Trader allows users to select a strategy, backtest it against historical data, run it through paper trading and adjust its parameters before enabling real orders. Some strategies also include DCA settings and additional options for managing entries.
Appleton is developing a TradingView connection through webhooks. The feature would allow an indicator or strategy created in TradingView to send a signal directly to Crow Trader, which could then execute an order for the selected trading pair.
The connection is already part of the development system, but Appleton has not confirmed that it has been fully tested in the current version. The free Evaluation Mode provides access to strategy configuration, backtesting and paper trading, while live signal and strategy execution require a licensed version.
Machine Learning Layer Would Analyze Market Cycles
The next planned Crow Trader layer is a machine learning model designed to process Bitcoin data, market liquidity, MVRV indicators and historical market cycles.
Appleton wants the system to compare current market conditions with previous cycle peaks, bottoms and recovery phases. The model would then estimate probable daily market direction and search for potential entry points for automated strategies.
Because of the required computing capacity, the analysis would operate outside the desktop application, with its results delivered to Crow Trader. Users would be able to activate or deactivate the module, but they would not directly configure its underlying model.
Appleton has also introduced a multi-agent AI code review process. Before a new build is released, another frontier model reviews the changes and suggests repairs or improvements.
In Appleton’s demonstration, Crow Trader simulated multiple strategies and executed limited live tests through a single interface. Its next development stages include stabilizing live execution, completing TradingView webhook testing and connecting the planned machine learning system to the application.
