The Cardano Foundation has released a new Let’s Talk Cardano interview with Nia Whitaker, Blockchain Success Lead at Dune. Hosted by Cardano Foundation Social Media Manager Jakob Gideon, the discussion focused on how Cardano’s on-chain history can support network analysis, governance monitoring and enterprise decisions.

The interview builds on Cardano’s April integration with Dune and examines how the available data can now be used through structured tables, public dashboards and AI agents.

Cardano Analytics Moves Beyond Individual Transactions

Blockchain explorers provide detailed information about individual transactions, including addresses, amounts and metadata. Dune extends that visibility across the chain’s full history, allowing users to compare activity over customized periods and combine multiple datasets within a single analysis.

The Cardano integration covers transactions, native assets, token metadata, staking, stake pools and governance. It also includes off-chain stake pool information such as names, tickers and descriptions that can be connected with on-chain activity.

Instead of only tracing where a specific amount of ADA was transferred, analysts can identify network-wide patterns, compare different periods and measure Cardano against other ecosystems. Dune currently indexes more than 100 blockchains, providing a common environment for cross-chain analysis.

Dune MCP Gives AI Agents Direct Data Access

Dune MCP is the company’s official remote Model Context Protocol server for connecting its analytics platform with compatible AI agents. It can be used with tools including Claude, Cursor and Codex.

A user can describe an analytical question in natural language, after which the agent can locate the relevant datasets, inspect table schemas, write and execute DuneSQL, review the results and create visualizations. SQL remains part of the underlying process, but users no longer need to write it manually or understand the structure of every Cardano table.

Whitaker said teams should begin by defining the business question they want the data to answer. That could include user growth, token activity, product usage, staking or liquidity. AI reduces the technical barrier, while the selection of meaningful metrics and validation of results remain part of the analytical process.

Governance Data Supports Enterprise Evaluation

Cardano governance represents an unusually large part of its Dune integration. Whitaker estimated that approximately 30% to 40% of the available Cardano tables are related to governance, presenting the figure as an approximate assessment rather than an official count.

The datasets allow users to examine governance proposals, their current status, voting activity, DRep delegation and changes over time. They also cover ADA staking, stake pools, epochs and governance participation.

For institutional and enterprise teams, the data is not limited to public dashboards. It can feed internal warehouses and existing analytics systems, allowing companies to evaluate Cardano against their own performance indicators.

Companies can therefore measure Cardano activity and governance without building a separate blockchain indexing layer. The same verified dataset can support internal reporting, KPI reviews and decisions about whether the network meets a specific operational or investment requirement.
