Cardano News - Crypto Crow Highlights ADA Liquidation Risks as Bitcoin Faces $74K and $68K Scenarios

Crypto analyst Jason Appleton, widely known as Crypto Crow, has highlighted growing liquidation risks for Cardano traders as Bitcoin struggles to regain momentum. In his latest livestream, Appleton examined leveraged ADA positions, potential Bitcoin support levels, and market uncertainty surrounding the November 3 U.S. midterm elections.

His analysis also addressed the contrasting performance of Midnight’s NIGHT token, which remained profitable in his trading portfolio while several other cryptocurrency positions recorded losses.

Bitcoin Faces Further Downside After Rejection Near $78,000

Appleton identified the $78,000 region as a key resistance area after Bitcoin briefly rebounded from a test of its 200-day moving average. The subsequent rejection brought renewed attention to lower price levels that could become relevant if selling pressure continues.

His technical analysis outlined $74,000 as an initial potential downside target, followed by a deeper correction toward $68,000. Appleton presented both levels as possible scenarios rather than definitive forecasts.

He also examined Bitcoin dominance, which had recently fluctuated around 60%. A potential retracement toward 59.5% to 59.6% featured in his analysis, although he questioned how reliably conventional Fibonacci indicators could be applied to market dominance.

The U.S. midterm elections formed another part of his market outlook. Appleton considered the possibility of additional weakness around the election, followed by a recovery once the immediate political uncertainty subsides. He also acknowledged that market conditions remain difficult to predict.

Cardano Liquidation Zones Raise Concerns for Leveraged ADA Traders

Cardano occupied a central position in Appleton’s analysis as he examined the relationship between declining prices and concentrated leveraged trading positions.

Using liquidation indicators, he highlighted areas containing substantial exposure from traders employing leverage of 25 times or greater. According to Appleton, the displayed liquidity zones represented hundreds of millions of dollars in leveraged positions, including long trades vulnerable to further downward movements.

A leveraged long position can be forcibly closed when falling prices reduce its available collateral below the exchange’s maintenance requirements. With 25x leverage, even relatively small adverse price movements can create significant liquidation risks.

Appleton paid particular attention to liquidity concentrations near the lower end of Cardano’s recent trading range. He also examined candlestick wicks and previous price structures, identifying regions where subsequent trading activity could potentially return.

These liquidation indicators do not establish that every position will be closed or that prices must move toward a particular level. The distribution of leveraged positions changes as traders open, adjust, and close their exposure.

For ADA, Appleton’s analysis centered on the possibility that continued weakness in Bitcoin could coincide with additional liquidation pressure in Cardano’s derivatives market.

NIGHT Remains Profitable in Crow’s Portfolio Despite Broader Weakness

Appleton contrasted Cardano’s declining price structure with Midnight’s NIGHT token, which continued to outperform several other assets in his personal trading portfolio.

At the time of the livestream, he reported that his NIGHT position was approximately 6.5% profitable, while other open positions showed losses ranging from roughly 1% to 12%. He maintained a 10% profit target for the NIGHT trade.

His latest comments followed an earlier comparison in which NIGHT had recorded approximately 15% growth during a period of considerably weaker performance across major cryptocurrencies.

Appleton also referenced Midnight Explorer data indicating that the network had exceeded 1.3 million cumulative transactions, including approximately 150,000 transactions over the preceding three days. Those figures describe blockchain activity rather than the number of unique users or NIGHT token trades.

Although NIGHT remained his strongest open position, Appleton did not establish that its relative performance would continue under further market pressure.

For Cardano, his immediate focus remained on the distribution of leveraged long positions and the potential consequences of another downward move. The liquidation zones highlighted in his analysis involved positions using leverage of 25 times or greater, with the amount of exposed capital changing as traders adjusted their positions.
