Cardano News - Charles Hoskinson Reveals Plans to Work With XRP Ledger

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has revealed that he has plans for XRP and is looking forward to working with the XRP Ledger (XRPL), renewing attention on potential collaboration between the blockchain ecosystems.

His October 31 statement follows earlier discussions about connecting XRP with Midnight's privacy-focused infrastructure and exploring additional decentralized finance capabilities. However, Hoskinson has not disclosed whether his latest plans involve Midnight, Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin, or a separate initiative.

Hoskinson Signals Renewed Interest in XRP Ledger Collaboration

Responding to a user on X, Hoskinson wrote:

"I have some great plans for XRP. Excited to be working with the XRPL."

The brief response did not identify a specific development project, participating organization, or implementation schedule.

Hoskinson has previously discussed XRP Ledger technology and potential opportunities to connect established blockchain networks through additional financial infrastructure. His earlier comments included interest in expanding XRP's utility through decentralized applications and cross-chain capabilities.

XRPL supports digital asset issuance, transfers, and financial services, while Cardano provides smart contract infrastructure and decentralized applications. Midnight introduces a separate privacy-focused architecture designed to support selective disclosure and confidential data processing.

Despite these previous areas of discussion, Hoskinson's latest statement does not confirm that the networks will be connected through a shared product or formal collaboration agreement.

Midnight and RLUSD Have Featured in Earlier Integration Discussions

Midnight has been part of previous conversations about extending XRP's functionality beyond its existing ecosystem.

Hoskinson previously explored the possibility of bringing XRP into Midnight's decentralized finance environment, including approaches that could provide access to additional financial applications and privacy capabilities.

Midnight uses zero-knowledge cryptography to support applications that process sensitive information without exposing all underlying data publicly. Its selective disclosure model allows authorized participants to access specific information while preserving confidentiality elsewhere.

Such functionality has been discussed in connection with financial applications requiring both verifiable transactions and controlled access to information.

Another subject raised in earlier conversations was RLUSD, Ripple's U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin.

During a September 2025 discussion, Hoskinson referred to previous conversations with the RLUSD team and described potential approaches to supporting XRP through wallets and decentralized finance infrastructure.

Those discussions did not result in a publicly confirmed RLUSD integration with Cardano or Midnight. Ripple has not announced either network as an officially supported destination for the stablecoin.

No Formal Partnership or Integration Timeline Has Been Announced

Hoskinson's latest statement has not been accompanied by a joint announcement from Input Output, Ripple, or the Midnight Foundation.

No dedicated XRPL integration roadmap, public testnet, technical demonstration, or implementation schedule has been disclosed.

Midnight's broader roadmap includes cross-chain expansion, but it does not identify XRP Ledger as a confirmed integration.

Representatives of the Midnight ecosystem also participated in discussions about privacy, interoperability, and on-chain finance at XRP Seoul 2026. Those discussions addressed potential applications across blockchain ecosystems without establishing a formal integration agreement.

Similarly, the earlier conversations surrounding RLUSD remain separate from Ripple's officially announced stablecoin deployments.

Hoskinson's October 31 comment therefore establishes his publicly expressed intention to work with XRP Ledger, without specifying the technical direction or organizational structure of that work. Whether those plans involve Midnight, XRP DeFi, RLUSD, or another initiative has not been disclosed.
