Cardano News - CoinGraph Wins TOKEN2049 Hackathon From Cardano Track

CoinGraph, a project from the Cardano track, won the overall Origins hackathon held alongside TOKEN2049 in Singapore. The Cardano Foundation announced the results on October 8 after 36 hours of development. Cardano Card took first place in the separate Cardano track competition, followed by zx402 and Nitrane Systems / Uplift.

CoinGraph Checks Data Before Agents Act

CoinGraph provides structured assessments that applications and AI agents can request before initiating financial actions. It brings together market data, liquidity, on-chain flows, and token information, attaching sources and timestamps to its findings.

Each assessment carries a digital fingerprint that allows its contents to be checked for subsequent changes. The requesting application retains responsibility for deciding whether to proceed.

The project offers a public demo and source code for its TOKEN2049 build. Its Chainlink CRE verification workflow currently runs in a simulator.

Cardano Track Winners Build Agent Commerce

Cardano Card demonstrated a purchasing service that accepts an Amazon product request, budget, and delivery address from another agent. According to the team’s documentation, funds are locked in Masumi escrow while Agentcard processes the purchase.

Successful order placement triggers payment to the service, while failed purchases follow a refund path. The team reported real Amazon orders alongside escrow transactions on Cardano Preprod. Payment depends on placing the order, rather than confirming physical delivery.

Second-place zx402 was presented as a private funding system using a shared stablecoin pool and zero-knowledge proofs to conceal an agent’s funding source.

Third-place Nitrane Systems / Uplift presented a 13-agent team for e-commerce growth tasks. The Foundation’s description identifies Masumi escrow for engagements and Chainlink verification of deliverables before payment.

Cardano Payments Connect Agents With Services

The prototypes use two payment approaches. x402 supports payment for individual API requests, while Masumi escrow holds funds until the conditions of an agent’s task are met.

Hirakumi, also highlighted by the Foundation, applies response checks to paid API access. Its prototype consumes usage credit only when an answer meets the service’s defined requirements.

CoinGraph’s public build demonstrates the x402 flow on Cardano Preprod using test ADA: the API returns a payment request, the agent pays and retries, and the service releases the requested assessment. It also offers a Masumi payment route for tasks, with the result hash recorded on-chain.
