Cardano Ships Node 11.1.1 as First Step Toward Dijkstra
The maintenance release removes legacy tracing, addresses known Genesis issues and responds to higher memory use observed in the previous version. It begins Cardano’s four-release path toward the Dijkstra era.
By SongMarketCap
Cardano Node 11.1.1 is now available as the first of four planned releases leading toward the Dijkstra hard fork. The package focuses on current mainnet operations before broader Dijkstra functionality becomes available for testing in Node 11.2.
Cardano Node 11.1.1 Delivers Operational Fixes
Node 11.1.1 removes Cardano’s legacy tracing system and addresses known issues related to Genesis components. It also responds to increased memory consumption identified during testing of Node 11.1.0.
Standard, AMD64 and ARM64 packages are available, supporting the different hardware configurations used by stake pool operators and development teams.
The release is a maintenance update rather than a hard fork candidate. ADA transactions continue under the existing network rules because installing the software does not activate a new ledger era.
Node 11.2 Will Expand Dijkstra Testing
Node 11.1.1 begins a sequence that includes versions 11.2, 11.3 and the final protocol version 12 package. Each release will progressively introduce the code required for testing and potential activation of Dijkstra.
Intersect expects Node 11.2 to contain most of the planned Dijkstra functionality, excluding Linear Leios components related to consensus and block production.
A public DijkstraNet is planned after Node 11.2. The testnet will allow developers, stake pool operators and infrastructure providers to evaluate Plutus V4, nested transactions and other protocol version 12 changes.
Dijkstra Still Requires Governance Approval
Intersect has published a moderate-confidence activation window between December 5, 2026, and January 4, 2027. A later high-confidence window runs from February 24 to March 26, 2027. Both remain estimates tied to development progress, testing and Cardano governance approval.
Peras is planned separately through an intra-era hard fork in the second quarter of 2027.
For Cardano operators, the immediate change is limited but concrete: Node 11.1.1 provides the first production-ready maintenance package in the Dijkstra release sequence, while Node 11.2 will open broader testing of the features expected to shape Cardano’s next ledger era and future ADA transaction capabilities.
