Midnight News - Eldora Outlines Private Investment Plans for Family Offices on Midnight

Eldora presented its plans for private investment management at Midnight LIVE during TOKEN2049 in Singapore. Founder and CEO Theophane Rame described how the platform aims to bring market research, trading, and portfolio management together for family offices while protecting information about their investments.

The presentation also included a discussion with Charles Hoskinson about potential connections to Bitcoin DeFi and identity verification. At the event, organizers welcomed Eldora into the first Night Sky Accelerator cohort.

Eldora’s Approach to Family Office Investing

Rame traced Eldora’s development to his experience managing a family office focused on real estate. His family began investing in Bitcoin in 2015 and 2016 and explored whether property tokenization could improve access to financing. He recalled discussing the idea with the French regulator in 2017, although the initiative did not move forward at that time.

The project’s focus later expanded to managing investments across different asset classes. Rame described the difficulty of allocating capital when cryptocurrencies, tokenized financial products, and other assets are spread across separate services and blockchain networks. Eldora aims to bring research and execution into one interface, with access to financial products including tokenized stocks.

He described privacy as a core requirement for family offices. Public transaction records can expose holdings, changes in portfolio allocation, and investment strategies. Rame also connected the protection of financial information with the personal security of the families whose assets are managed.

Private Mandates and Recurring Purchases on Midnight

One application Eldora plans to develop on Midnight is private dollar-cost averaging: investing a fixed amount at regular intervals. Rame described a process in which a client signs an investment mandate associated with a financial adviser. The mandate would authorize investment activity while sensitive information about the arrangement remains protected.

Rame said Eldora was working with the Midnight Foundation on a single entry point for allocating capital with privacy protections. Midnight is designed to let applications verify information and enforce rules while keeping selected data private. Eldora’s proposed use would apply those capabilities to investment instructions and portfolio information.

During questions, Rame described Eldora as a layer above existing brokerage infrastructure. He outlined a revenue model based on asset management fees and explained that three family offices had contributed to building the platform around their investment needs.

Bitcoin DeFi, Identity and the Family Office Rollout

Hoskinson suggested connecting Eldora with Pogun, a team developing Bitcoin DeFi services. He outlined a possible model in which Bitcoin holdings could support borrowing in a private stablecoin, with the borrowed funds then deployed into decentralized finance. Eldora could provide a management interface, while Midnight would protect information about the position and its use.

Rame responded that his own family office held Bitcoin but did not use it to generate yield because it wanted to keep its activity private. Hoskinson proposed further discussions between the teams about a potential combined offering.

He also encouraged Eldora to speak with the Midnight Passport team about identity verification, raising the risk of financial clients being impersonated through AI-generated voices and videos. Both the Pogun and Passport connections were discussed as potential collaborations.

Rame said Eldora was already open to retail users at the time of the presentation and that four family offices from the team’s network were using the platform daily and providing feedback. For a dedicated family office offering, he named January as the development target, with onboarding planned to begin at that stage.
