Cardano News - Yaci Store 3.0 Beta Adds SQL Analytics and MCP Access to Cardano Data

BloxBean’s test release expands how developers can query Cardano blockchain data and connect it to AI tools. A separate stable release improves token metadata support and governance records.

BloxBean released Yaci Store 3.0.0-beta4 on September 23. Yaci Store is a Cardano blockchain indexer that organizes chain data for use by applications. The beta adds SQL analytics, an optional MCP server and more Blockfrost-compatible APIs. Stable version 2.0.3, published the same day, brings data fixes to existing installations.

More Cardano Data Through Developer APIs

Cardano applications need indexed data to display transactions, assets, stake pools and governance activity. Yaci Store allows development teams to operate that data layer themselves and provide it to their applications through APIs.

The 3.0 beta adds Blockfrost-compatible endpoints for network information, stake pools, governance actions and DReps. For a team already using that API format, the additions provide more Cardano data it can test against its own Yaci Store installation. The release notes describe expanded coverage, not compatibility with every Blockfrost endpoint, so an application’s required endpoints still need to be checked individually.

Developers can also write Java plugins for custom indexing. This lets a team adapt how Yaci Store processes data for a specific product without changing the Cardano blockchain or building an indexer from scratch.

SQL Analytics and MCP Access

The new analytics-query module runs SQL queries over indexed data exported in Parquet format, using DuckDB. A team can use those queries to examine the history collected by its indexer, alongside the API requests its application makes during normal operation.

An optional MCP server exposes analytics and utility functions to connected AI tools. Its functions include discovering available tables, running SQL queries, retrieving address balances and converting between Cardano slots and time. SQL access is limited to read queries, with controls on result size and execution time. Operators must enable the MCP server explicitly.

That combination gives developers a concrete way to investigate their own Cardano datasets: inspect which records are available, query them and pass the results to a connected tool. It is access to data held by Yaci Store, not a new AI capability of the Cardano protoco

Stable 2.0.3 Improves Token and Governance Records

Version 2.0.3 adds CIP-26 metadata support and CIP-68 metadata support for fungible tokens. The 3.0 beta extends CIP-68 coverage to non-fungible tokens. Accurate indexed metadata matters to applications that identify and display Cardano assets.

The stable release also corrects several governance records, including stale votes after DRep deregistration, selection of the latest SPO and constitutional committee votes, and stake calculations used in SPO voting. A governance dashboard depends on those records to present the current voting picture. The fixes change what Yaci Store calculates and returns; they do not change Cardano’s voting rules.

Installations running 2.0.2 can apply the stable release’s database migration at startup, although enabling CIP-68 indexing requires a full resync. For 3.0.0-beta4, BloxBean recommends a fresh database and a sync from genesis. That recommendation covers the same ledger, governance and metadata history that developers would examine through the beta’s new SQL and MCP tools.
