Sundae v4 Gets October 1 Cardano Mainnet Launch Date
Sundae Labs has opened a public preview testnet for its next-generation decentralized exchange protocol. The wider v4 design introduces modular liquidity, concentrated liquidity and partial execution for limit orders.

Sundae v4 is scheduled to launch on the Cardano mainnet on October 1, 2026. Sundae Labs announced the date on September 10 and opened the preview environment for public testing ahead of the production release.
Sundae v4 Introduces a Modular Cardano DEX
SundaeSwap is a decentralized exchange where users can trade Cardano native tokens and provide liquidity without a centralized intermediary. Version 4 expands its architecture so different pool models and execution rules can operate within the same protocol.
Sundae Labs has presented concentrated liquidity, linear swaps, custom vaults and partial fills as components of the broader v4 design. Its launch video also showed market and limit order tabs, a Smart Router label and a sample USDM to ADA swap interface.
The modular structure is designed to support multiple liquidity models through configurable components rather than a single fixed pool format. Custom vaults extend that architecture with specialized liquidity strategies and rules connected to the protocol.
Concentrated Liquidity Uses Cardano’s UTxO Model
Sundae Labs described its concentrated liquidity model as a series of separate pools, each covering its own price range.
The design uses Cardano’s UTxO model to keep each range in a small, isolated state instead of maintaining a large granular tick structure within one pool.
Routing can then connect liquidity distributed across the available ranges.
Depositing across multiple ranges involves a batch of interactions with the relevant pools. This changes how liquidity providers can position capital and how the protocol locates liquidity when executing a trade.
Partial Fills Expand Sundae Limit Orders
The v4 design also introduces partial execution for resting limit orders. An order can be divided into smaller fills over time while retaining its specified conditions instead of requiring the full amount to execute at once.
Sundae Labs described routing and partial fills as two related mechanisms. Routing can divide execution across available pools, while partial fills distribute it across time. Basic market swaps remain single-execution orders under the documented structure.
The team previously said v4 would begin with a smaller core feature set before additional functionality is introduced. The September announcement confirms the mainnet date and public preview but does not provide a final list of features included in the first release. The preview now exposes the new interface for testing, while the October 1 deployment will establish which parts of Sundae’s wider modular design enter production first.
