Shadow Labs Connects Private DAO Voting With Discord and XRP Communities

Shadow Labs show one privacy-focused DAO application during official Midnight Fireside Dev Hang on August 26. The demo cover how to create DAO, wallet access, proposal management and how to vote directly inside Discord server.

The application use Midnight zero-knowledge infrastructure to separate voter identity from the voting choice wey each person make. The project develop under Midnight Build Club, and one related public repository wey developer Anthony Montanez maintain document one privacy-preserving DAO contract for Midnight Preprod.

Shadow Labs Combines Private DAOs With Wallet Access

Users fit create DAO through the Shadow Labs interface, add description and connect im Discord, website and GitHub channels. You fit list DAO publicly or configure am as private, invite-only community.

The application get different models to manage proposals and voting power. You fit restrict proposal creation to administrators or open am to all members, and votes fit carry equal weight or calculate according to token holdings.

Communities fit still restrict membership through token or NFT ownership. This one allow existing projects to use their digital assets as access credentials for DAO participation and governance.

The demo use Lace to connect with the application. Shadow Labs still list support for Xaman, one wallet wey many people for the XRP ecosystem dey use, although dem no show the Xaman connection during the session. Lace don already support Midnight DApp connectivity, giving Cardano and Midnight users one established wallet route enter applications wey build for the network.

Discord Bot Moves Governance Into Community Channels

Shadow Labs connect DAO with Discord server through one setup command wey the application generate. Once e connect, community members fit view active proposals and vote without opening separate governance portal.

During the demo, one administrator create proposal for the web application before e retrieve am through Discord. One participant then use slash command, enter the proposal identifier and select voting option.

According to the team, the Discord bot send the required information go one proof server wey handle the zero-knowledge part of the transaction. The project still use DUST generation to sponsor transaction costs for users.

One related public repository wey Montanez maintain document DAO voting contract wey dem write with Compact. The implementation use commit-and-reveal process, Merkle Tree commitments and circuit-derived nullifiers wey dem design to prevent double voting.

During the initial commit phase, participant choice remain hide inside cryptographic commitment. Results go show after the reveal phase, while the voter identity still no link to the individual vote. The repository target Midnight Preprod and use test NIGHT to generate the DUST resource wey transactions require.

XRP Access Does Not Yet Mean XRPL Execution

Members of the Shadow Labs team come from the XRP community and dem position the application as governance tool for communities wey no get their own privacy infrastructure.
