Pogun Cut BitVM Setup From 40 GiB to 28 MiB
Pogun don show say BitVM protocol fit run for Bitcoin mainnet, as dem still report big reduction for storage and setup wey the technology need. The work dey push infrastructure for the Bitcoin-to-Cardano mirroring bridge wey dem plan wey go reduce trust risk.

Pogun CTO Torben Poguntke don release BitVM Explorer demo wey dey show how protocol dey run for Bitcoin mainnet side, including deposit, claim, challenge and verification paths. As e dey explain the steps, Poguntke talk say off-chain setup storage don drop from 40 GiB to 0.0281 GB, and setup time don fall from 354 seconds to 0.149 seconds.
The demo focus on the Bitcoin execution layer. Pogun full Bitcoin-to-Cardano mirroring bridge never public yet.
BitVM Explorer Show Bitcoin Mainnet Execution
Poguntke publish the BitVM Explorer Demo – Step-by-step protocol execution + Mainnet run on August 7. The explorer dey visualize the protocol transaction graph and e allow make person follow the execution paths step by step.
The demo use three operators, Alice, Bob and Charlie, and e display connector outputs and multiple transaction branches. Blue paths mean normal execution, while red paths cover challenge and dispute scenarios.
For the mainnet walkthrough, the explorer dey show Bitcoin transaction stages wey involve deposits, claims, signatures and challenges. Pogun dey use 1-of-N security model wey dem design so that even one honest operator fit stop fraudulent claim make e no succeed.
Connector outputs dey link predefined protocol stages through Bitcoin UTXOs, and e dey limit how execution fit proceed either for the standard path or the dispute path.
Pogun Reduce BitVM Setup Requirements
According to Poguntke August 10 update, the new figures mean about 1,450-fold reduction for storage and 2,376-fold reduction for setup time based on the reported values.
Poguntke still report say the estimated Bitcoin-side dispute path cost don fall from $14,211 to $37. The figure relate to the optimized protocol approach, no be normal Bitcoin or Cardano transaction fee.
The optimization target the heavy off-chain requirements wey early BitVM3-style constructions get. Pogun dey use witness-encryption and BABE-style approach wey dem design to reduce the cryptographic work wey the protocol need.
Detailed hardware and testing conditions for the comparative measurements never public, so the calculated ratios just reflect Pogun reported figures, no be standardized benchmark.
Pogun Connect Bitcoin Liquidity to Cardano
Pogun dey build Bitcoin liquidity and credit stack wey connect to Cardano, including credit market, yield products and BitVM-powered mirroring bridge wey dem plan.
Under the model wey dem propose, BTC go remain locked for Bitcoin while dem go create non-fungible 1:1 mirror wey represent specific Bitcoin UTXO for Cardano. The mirror dey designed to work inside Pogun credit and yield infrastructure, and Cardano-side transactions go use ADA for network fees.
The project build on top of earlier Cardinal work by the same technical team, wey explore Bitcoin bridge infrastructure using BitVMX. Pogun dey extend that work toward broader DeFi stack and optimized multi-operator architecture.
The current Explorer demo dey verify progress for the Bitcoin-side execution layer, no be complete end-to-end bridge yet. The latest optimization don reduce one specific infrastructure constraint behind that roadmap, moving the BitVM setup from resource-heavy requirements go footprint wey dey much easier to operate.
