Cardano Don Get one SAP Integration Gateway
Cardano developers now get one dedicated gateway to carry blockchain functionality enter SAP environments after developer Max Weber present ODATANO, one Catalyst funded project wey dem build around OData and SAP CAP.
The project dey expose Cardano read operations, transaction building and external signing flows through enterprise tools wey SAP developers don already dey use.
Weber, wey don dey work with SAP systems since 2015, present ODATANO as one way to reduce the wahala of direct blockchain integration by putting Cardano functions behind familiar SAP and OData standards.
This one matter for enterprise context because SAP systems dey inside purchasing, finance, supply chain, logistics and other core business processes. For the presentation, Weber mention say SAP get around 440,000 customers worldwide and say large share of global transactions dey touch one SAP system at some point.
OData as Enterprise Layer for Cardano
OData na open protocol wey people dey use across SAP and Microsoft enterprise environments. E allow services to expose metadata, models, entities and actions for format wey enterprise tools fit read, bind and use automatically.
ODATANO apply that model to Cardano. The project get three main services, read operations, transaction building and external signing flows. According to Weber’s presentation, the solution dey support multiple backend providers, failover logic, caching, CSL and builder implementations for transaction construction, plus several signing options, including browser wallets, CLI keys and hardware security module integration.
During the demo, Weber show one Fiori application wey fit connect wallet, build ADA transaction, display inputs, outputs, fee breakdown and transaction hash, then submit the signed transaction to the Cardano network. The same architecture fit work inside SAP BTP environments, Fiori applications and other CAP applications.
Catalyst Delivery and Enterprise Use Cases
The project land through Catalyst milestones. Weber list 29 Cardano related entities, 23 OData endpoints, three backends, more than 1,200 tests and over 10 documentation guides wey dey available through the project’s GitHub repositories.
The next plans include additional use cases, one publicly hosted audit or demo environment and further exploration of agentic workflows, including possible use of the x402 standard inside ERP processes. During the discussion, participants still raise potential enterprise use cases like payment settlement, audit processes, AI workflows and future integrations with real business systems.
Weber still name real business process integration and presentations for SAP events or conferences as future goals. As the Catalyst delivery don complete, ODATANO don move from proposal to working developer infrastructure. The next test na whether SAP developers and enterprise teams go begin use Cardano functionality inside real operational workflows.
