Charles Hoskinson celebrated his 39th birthday with messages from creators, projects, and members of the Cardano and Midnight communities. Posts throughout the day ranged from personal tributes to playful greetings, while the Cardano founder shared his own message: “39 is going to be the wildest year of my life.”
His post quoted a birthday greeting from @StakeWithPride, which wished him a happy “version 3.9.” The software-themed reference also appeared in other community messages.
Cardano Birthday Messages Recall the Whiteboard Video
LaPetiteADA highlighted Hoskinson’s whiteboard video, crediting it with introducing many people to cryptocurrency. Her message also recalled his advocacy for financial services for people without access to banking, alongside security, decentralization, and privacy as a fundamental right.
Rahul, posting as @Rahulkonudula, shared a personal connection to the same video. He described it and Hoskinson’s vision as the reasons he joined Cardano, thanked him for supporting his project over the years, and ended with a joke about trading his hair for Hoskinson’s brains.
LILY, known as @lilybrodi, called him “the best crypto founder of all time” in her birthday greeting. HOSKY offered a playful variation on Hoskinson’s own post, replacing 39 with five in the prediction about the year ahead.
The @Cardano account marked the occasion by sharing an interview recorded during TOKEN2049 in Singapore. Its post highlighted discussions about Cardano’s future, Midnight’s expansion, AI agents, and the transition toward a decentralized network with multiple client implementations. It also pointed viewers to Hoskinson’s unconventional birthday plans discussed in the interview.
Midnight Greetings Include a Sonnet and Family Wishes
Stan Munyasia, posting as @stanmunyasia, wrote a birthday sonnet connecting Hoskinson’s journey through Ethereum, Cardano, and Midnight. The poem brought together themes of privacy, decentralization, and cooperation between blockchain networks.
TomJon, known as @TommyJohn70, signed his greeting “Your Midnight family.” He wished Hoskinson good health, peace, and more time with loved ones, while thanking him for giving the community something to build together. His message ended by encouraging Hoskinson to enjoy the cake, adding that changing the world could wait until tomorrow.
Mauro Andreoli also wished him luck with “version 3.9.” In a longer tribute, Olivier Mwatsimulamo emphasized endurance, research, and consistency, connecting Hoskinson’s work on Cardano with Midnight’s focus on privacy.
