Cardano News - Midnight Adds CertiK as Ecosystem Security Partner

CertiK announced the partnership on August 20, with Midnight subsequently sharing the announcement through its official channels. The agreement brings an established blockchain security company into Midnight’s expanding ecosystem as the network continues to add applications, infrastructure providers and interoperability partners.

The announcement does not identify CertiK as an auditor of Midnight’s core protocol or confirm a specific smart contract review.

CertiK Joins the Midnight Ecosystem

CertiK described the relationship as a new “ecosystem partnership” with Midnight.

According to the announcement, the two organizations will explore opportunities to support the security and continued growth of the Midnight ecosystem. Financial terms, contract duration and specific security services were not disclosed.

CertiK provides blockchain security services including smart contract audits, monitoring and other security tooling across multiple ecosystems. Neither company has confirmed which, if any, of those services will initially be applied to Midnight.

The agreement is therefore broader than a conventional audit announcement and currently establishes CertiK as a security-focused ecosystem partner.

Security Supports Midnight’s Privacy Architecture

Midnight is a Cardano partner chain designed around programmable data protection and selective disclosure.

Its architecture allows developers to determine which information remains private, which data can be disclosed to authorized parties and which information is public. Applications are built using Midnight’s Compact smart contract language and zero-knowledge technology.

The network is intended for applications that require blockchain verification while maintaining controls around sensitive information, including financial services, identity, enterprise data and AI-agent permissions.

Midnight uses NIGHT as its native network asset, while DUST functions as a non-transferable resource used for transaction processing.

As Midnight expands its developer and application ecosystem, the CertiK agreement adds a dedicated blockchain security company alongside its existing infrastructure and interoperability partnerships.

Partnership Scope Remains Open

The technical scope of the relationship has not yet been defined publicly.

Midnight and CertiK have not announced a protocol audit, application-level security review, continuous monitoring deployment or other specific engagement.

For now, the partnership adds CertiK to Midnight’s security ecosystem without tying the company to a disclosed audit or monitoring mandate. Any protocol review or application-level security engagement would become a separate development once its scope is announced.
