Midnight’s latest Fireside Dev Hang outlined updates to developer documentation, AI-assisted coding support and submission rules for the Awesome dApps repository. The changes focus on verified code, clearer attribution and better project visibility.

Midnight’s documentation team used the August 19 Fireside Dev Hang to detail changes to its developer resources and community project review process. The update covered reorganized guides, expanded AI integration through Midnight Expert and stricter standards for projects submitted to the Awesome dApps repository.

Midnight Expands AI Developer Documentation

Midnight has reorganized parts of its documentation to make network environments, guides and onboarding flows easier for developers to navigate. The revised structure includes clearer sections for Preview, Preprod and network-related references used when building and testing applications.

The presentation also highlighted Midnight Expert, a Claude Code toolset designed to help developers write, validate, run and debug Compact contracts and Midnight applications. According to Midnight’s documentation, the tool connects AI-assisted coding with the real compiler, SDK and development toolchain.

The addition addresses a common issue in newer blockchain development

environments. Compact and Midnight SDK patterns are still not broadly represented in general coding models, which can lead AI assistants to generate syntax, calls or examples that appear correct but fail during compilation or testing.

Awesome dApps Review Gets Stricter

The second part of the Fireside Dev Hang focused on Awesome dApps, the public repository used to showcase applications, tools and resources from the Midnight ecosystem. Submissions are handled through pull requests, but the team said projects must now meet clearer technical and documentation standards before being accepted.

Submitted projects are expected to include working code, proper licensing, accurate attribution and a README that matches the project’s actual functionality. Applications built directly on the network should state that they are built on the Midnight Network, while wallets, SDKs and infrastructure tools should state that they integrate with Midnight.

The team also listed recurring reasons for rejected or delayed submissions, including missing licenses, non-working code, multiple applications in one pull request, inconsistent terminology and incorrect category placement. Awesome dApps currently organizes projects across developer tools, finance and DeFi, identity and privacy, gaming, governance and learning resources.

Midnight Sets a Clearer Builder Path

For the Cardano ecosystem, the update is relevant because Midnight continues to develop as a privacy and zero-knowledge network linked to Cardano’s broader technical roadmap. The Fireside Dev Hang did not introduce a new mainnet milestone, but it clarified how developer activity is documented, reviewed and made visible.

Awesome dApps is being treated as a curated technical record rather than a loose promotional list. That makes repository quality, attribution and maintainability part of how ecosystem work is surfaced to other builders, partners and observers.

The operational change for developers is direct: Midnight’s documentation now points more clearly toward AI-assisted but verified development, while Awesome dApps requires cleaner repositories, functional code and precise project descriptions before listing. That gives serious builders a more structured route from idea, to working Compact code, to public ecosystem visibility.
