Mesmo Bring Cardano Functions come Four Programming Languages

Cardano Foundation introduce Mesmo on September 24 to give developers another way to work with Cardano features outside Java. E package selected functions from Cardano Client Lib inside native shared library wey applications fit call without running Java Virtual Machine.

Mesmo Dey Work Side by Side with Existing SDKs

Developers don already dey build Cardano applications with tools like pycardano, MeshJS, Lucid and Pallas. Each SDK get im own release cycle, so support for new protocol function fit arrive at different times. Mesmo go let one team use selected Cardano Client Lib functions while dem still rely on their usual SDK for the rest of the application.

The project dey use GraalVM Native Image to compile the Java library into native binary with standard C interface. Language wrappers dey expose im functions to Python, Go, Rust and JavaScript. So developers fit use those operations across different environments without maintaining Java service.

Building Transactions Without Running a Node

Mesmo cover account and address handling, cryptography, transaction construction and signing. Im transaction model include payments, staking, DRep registration, governance votes, native scripts and Plutus scripts. The library still provide Plutus datum hashing and offline execution costing.

For example, one team wey im primary SDK never support one particular governance action fit use Mesmo to build and sign that transaction. The application go still obtain current blockchain data through separate provider and submit the finished transaction through im existing infrastructure.

Mesmo no dey synchronize the chain or maintain node connection by itself.

Cardano Foundation talk say automated tests dey build and submit supported transaction types from each language wrapper go development network. The tests still check say the node dey reject invalid transactions. This one dey verify the resulting transactions against network rules, beyond just confirming say the wrappers fit call the library.

Pre-Release Limits and Next Steps

Mesmo still be pre-release, and im APIs fit change. The native library dey add approximately 60 MB to application. JavaScript support currently dey use Bun; Node.js no dey supported because of incompatibility with the current native interface setup.

The roadmap include additional data-provider integrations and WebAssembly target. The team dey plan to move toward beta after the relevant Cardano Client Lib release don stable.
