Cardano News - Iagon Opens Insight Beta for Cardano Developers

Iagon opened the public beta of Insight on September 30, expanding access to its Cardano data and transaction service. The release introduces self-service registration and compatible interfaces designed to simplify migration for applications already using Blockfrost or Koios.

Cardano Mainnet Data Without Running Nodes

Insight is part of Iagon’s computing infrastructure offering. It provides data on addresses, balances, assets, transactions, staking, pools, and governance. The beta supports Cardano mainnet, with additional networks planned.

An application programming interface, or API, connects software to the data it needs. A wallet can retrieve ADA and native token balances, while a staking application can check delegations and accumulated rewards.

Insight also supports queries for unspent transaction outputs, known as UTxOs, and the submission of signed transactions. These functions serve wallets, analytics platforms, and digital asset management tools.

According to Iagon’s documentation, the service runs on its Enterprise Compute infrastructure. Iagon maintains synchronization and availability, allowing development teams to integrate Cardano functions without operating their own nodes and indexing systems.

Blockfrost and Koios Compatibility

The public beta offers three interfaces: a native Insight API and separate interfaces compatible with Blockfrost and Koios. One API key works across all three.

The portal’s documentation describes matching request paths, parameters, and response formats for the listed compatible endpoints. Iagon states that existing clients can switch by changing their base address and replacing their API key.

The compatibility layers cover core blockchain queries and governance data, including DReps, proposals, and committee votes. Compatibility applies to the documented endpoints, while the native Insight API uses its own response format and provides a separate integration route.

This structure lets developers choose between adapting an existing integration and building directly against Insight’s native interface.

Public Beta Access and Credit Pricing

Developers can create an account with an email address and password, then manage API keys through the dashboard. Registration is separate from the promotional credit giveaway.

Published pricing starts at €8.49 for three million credits, valid for 30 days. Most requests consume one credit, while more demanding endpoints cost additional credits. Iagon’s FAQ lists card, USDC, and ADA payments as options planned for after the beta.

For initial testing, the team announced a giveaway awarding three million credits each to 100 winners, valid for 30 days. Projects and companies can separately request a larger voucher.

Once an account has credits, developers can issue an API key, connect a supported client, and begin querying Cardano mainnet. Existing applications using compatible calls can follow that workflow while retaining the request and response structures already used in their code.
