HOSKY Fuels Cardano’s New Epoch Transaction Record

Doggie Bowl’s return helped drive network activity to more than 11 times the previous epoch’s transaction count, while total fees reached nearly 338,000 ADA.

Cardano News - HOSKY Fuels Cardano’s New Epoch Transaction Record

Cardano processed 1,780,896 transactions in epoch 660, breaking a benchmark that had stood for almost five years. HOSKY’s Doggie Bowl campaign helped power the surge after reopening with an explicit challenge to its community: beat the network’s longstanding transaction record.

Cardano Records 1.78 Million Transactions in Five Days

Epoch 660 ran from October 6 to October 11, 2026, in UTC. Cardanoscan’s final figures put it 213,922 transactions above epoch 304, which recorded 1,566,974 transactions in November 2021. The new total cleared that historical benchmark by approximately 13.7%.

The jump from the immediately preceding epoch was even larger. Epoch 659 recorded 158,011 transactions, making the new total 11.27 times higher, an increase of approximately 1,027%.

HOSKY also reported more than 500,000 transactions on October 8 in its celebratory graphic. That daily figure formed part of a concentrated burst of activity surrounding the campaign’s return.

Doggie Bowl Puts HOSKY’s Community on Chain

HOSKY is a Cardano meme token built around humor, self-deprecation, and community participation. Doggie Bowl distributes tokens through a simple interaction: under the announced campaign, participants send 2 ADA and receive part of that ADA back alongside a random amount of $HOSKY.

The reopening coincided with the start of epoch 660. The announced record attempt gave participants a shared target, with each interaction contributing transactions to the network.

Stake pool operator SIPO examined the activity through on-chain data. Across 180 transactions sampled from three consecutive blocks, 136 sent exactly 2 ADA to the same address, approximately 76% of the sample.

An earlier inspection found outgoing transactions distributing approximately 1.86 ADA and $HOSKY to around 20 recipients at a time. The observed flows matched the campaign’s announced mechanics.

The sample supports the campaign’s role in the surge without establishing its share of the entire epoch. Participation could also be repeated, so the transaction count does not represent an equivalent number of individual users.

Fuller Cardano Blocks Bring Higher Total Fees

SIPO’s three sampled blocks contained between 162 and 196 transactions each and reached approximately 97% of the permitted block size. Its analysis did not measure waiting times for other transactions.

Across the completed epoch, network fees totaled approximately 337,720 ADA, compared with 49,495 ADA in epoch 659. That was a 6.82-fold increase in aggregate fees as transaction activity expanded.

The average fee per transaction, calculated from those totals, was approximately 0.19 ADA, down from 0.31 ADA in the preceding epoch. The network collected more overall while processing a much larger number of transactions.

After the old record fell, HOSKY shared a celebratory graphic with a two-word message: “You’re Welcome!”
