Cardano News - GeroWallet Adds Alerts and RealFi Earn for Cardano

GeroWallet released version 2.7.2 on October 7, bringing background notifications and RealFi Earn to its Cardano wallet. Available through the Chrome Web Store, the update lets users track payments and order execution without keeping the wallet interface open, while RealFi staking access is being enabled gradually by country.

The non-custodial wallet combines Cardano asset management, stake delegation, governance, and DeFi access while users retain control of their private keys.

Cardano Wallet Alerts Beyond the Open Dashboard

Gero’s new notifications cover incoming funds, completed or canceled swaps and limit orders, and security events such as a newly linked device. That includes limit orders filled days after placement, so users can receive an execution alert without repeatedly checking their positions.

Notifications remain off until the user activates them with a password or PassKey confirmation. Users can select alert categories, hide amounts, filter small incoming payments, and synchronize their preferences across devices. An integrated inbox retains notifications and links them to the relevant transactions.

Browser alerts currently support Cardano wallets secured with a password or PassKey in Chrome and other Chromium browsers. Hardware wallets and wallets created through Google sign-in are not yet supported for notifications.

RealFi Earn and Broader Limit Orders

RealFi Earn brings staking of USDrf, a dollar-backed token, into Gero’s Financial Hub. The integration connects users with RealFi’s yield model based on real-world assets and credit markets, with a guided process covering token acquisition and staking.

Users can stake, unstake, and claim rewards inside Gero, with transaction previews, a 90-day yield chart, and an unstaking tracker. These functions support Ledger, Trezor, and Keystone devices. Access depends on the user’s country as the rollout progresses.

SundaeSwap V4 has joined Gero’s supported swap venues, enabling USDrf swaps within the wallet. This connects token acquisition with the Earn interface, allowing users to obtain the asset and manage their staking position in one application.

The release also expands limit orders across more pairs on Splash, WingRiders, and Minswap V1 and V2. Open orders remain visible in swap history, and cancellation no longer requires users to set aside collateral in their wallet.

Midnight Sync and In-Wallet Support

The update restores synchronization for Midnight mainnet wallets affected by an issue dating to September 30. Those wallets perform a one-time resync after upgrading. Additional fixes address transaction failures involving large numbers of unspent outputs and certain Ledger and Trezor signing problems.

Daily transaction grouping and wallet-wide search make the resulting activity easier to navigate. Search covers wallet actions, held tokens, NFTs, and Midnight transactions.

On October 11, Gero announced a Help Center for the next update, combining beginner guides, advanced tutorials, frequently asked questions, and news about Cardano, Midnight, and Bitcoin.

The preview places searchable support within the wallet itself. Its guides address specific tasks and problems, including receiving ADA, understanding why a transaction is still pending, and protecting the recovery phrase used to restore access to funds.
