Cardano News - FluidTokens and Minswap Join Forces to Build Cardano Liquidity Hub

FluidTokens and Minswap announced a strategic alliance at TOKEN2049 on October 7, presenting plans for a shared liquidity hub. The initiative brings Minswap’s exchange and aggregator together with FluidTokens’ lending infrastructure, expanding an existing technical collaboration into a broader Cardano DeFi platform.

Connecting Minswap Trading With FluidTokens Lending

The teams presented the announcement under the headline “FluidTokens and Minswap joining forces,” outlining a hub built around their complementary services.

Minswap is a decentralized exchange where users swap Cardano tokens, provide liquidity to trading pools, and earn a share of trading fees. Its aggregator routes swaps through available liquidity sources.

FluidTokens operates lending protocols where users supply capital to borrowers or obtain ADA loans against supported digital assets.

The proposed integration connects borrowing, collateral management, and token swaps. A borrower could access a loan and exchange the borrowed assets through a connected workflow, bringing lending and trading into the same product experience.

Joint CIP-113 DEX Development Provides the Foundation

The alliance builds on a collaboration funded through Project Catalyst.

Their Fund 12 project, “Minswap + Fluid Tokens: a smart token DEX on Cardano,” received 495,000 ADA to develop an exchange compatible with programmable tokens. The official Catalyst record marks the project as complete, with all funding distributed.

The development includes a customized AMM v2.1, an automated market maker designed to connect liquidity pools and trading orders with CIP-113 transfer rules. Minswap’s official website already provides access to a Smart-Token DEX Beta.

This existing work gives the alliance a technical foundation for trading assets that carry conditions governing who can hold or receive them.

Liquidity Routing Across Cardano and Other Ecosystems

The presentation extended the hub’s ambition beyond Cardano, describing one platform that routes liquidity across ecosystems.

The announcement also coincided with the Cardano Foundation’s October 7 launch of CIP-113 on mainnet. Available without a hard fork, the standard enables native Cardano assets to carry issuer-defined transfer rules, supporting regulated stablecoins and tokenized financial instruments.

Exchanges handling those assets must preserve their transfer conditions during trading. The teams’ programmable-token DEX addresses that requirement, placing regulated-asset trading within the technical foundation of their wider liquidity hub.
