The integration go allow banks, exchanges and payment firms to hold and transfer tokens wey Cardano issue through Fireblocks’ existing security controls, with support for CIP-26 and CIP-68.

Cardano Foundation and Fireblocks announce on September 24 say Cardano Native Tokens go get full support for the institutional digital asset platform. The integration wey dem plan go bridge the gap between assets wey Cardano issue and the custody infrastructure wey financial institutions dey use.
Fireblocks Extend Support Pass ADA
Fireblocks dey provide businesses with infrastructure to secure digital assets and authorize transactions. According to the joint announcement, their customers include thousands of banks, exchanges, payment firms and fintech companies.
The platform don support ADA since 2021. But to handle other Cardano tokens before now don require extra manual steps. Native support go make those tokens become standard assets inside Fireblocks, so customers fit hold, send and receive them through established workflows.
Those workflows include transaction policies based on the asset, amount, source and destination. Organizations fit allow or block transfers and require extra approvals according to their internal rules.
Wetn Go Change for Cardano Token Issuers
Cardano native tokens dey built into the blockchain ledger, wey dey track ownership and movement without needing separate smart contracts for basic token accounting. But even with that network-level support, platforms wey institutions dey use to manage their assets still need integration.
For stablecoin and tokenized asset issuers, the Fireblocks announcement dey address that operational requirement. Financial counterparties wey dey use the platform go get standard way to handle Cardano-issued assets inside their existing custody systems.
Cardano Foundation CEO Frederik Gregaard identify access to established infrastructure as one practical barrier to institutional adoption.
“Institutions rarely adopt a new asset on its own. Adoption happens through trusted infrastructure,” Gregaard talk.
The planned expansion therefore dey extend institutional access pass Cardano base currency to assets wey issuers create across its ecosystem.
Token Standards and the March 2027 Rollout
The announced scope include tokens wey dey use the Cardano Token Registry, wey associate with CIP-26, and the onchain metadata standard CIP-68.
CIP-26 dey connect blockchain identifiers with readable information wey dem store offchain, like token names and descriptions. CIP-68 dey store metadata onchain through reference-token structure and dey support both fungible tokens and NFTs. To cover the two go accommodate different metadata approaches wey Cardano projects don already dey use.
Support dey expected to become available by March 2027. Fireblocks and Cardano Foundation still plan to define the scope of further DeFi and ecosystem integrations during 2027.
The confirmed implementation target na native token custody and transfers under Fireblocks’ existing security and policy controls. The scope of extra DeFi integrations go dey determined through that planned work.
