Cardano PRIME Receives 49 Applications

AlphaGrowth had received 49 applications for Cardano PRIME as of its Cardano Over Coffee X Space, team member Eric Waisanen said. The program is reviewing proposals to strengthen Cardano DeFi infrastructure and bring more users and liquidity to the network.

Waisanen said AlphaGrowth is seeking teams that can deliver working products and explain how their proposals address a specific need. Some applications could provide shared infrastructure for multiple Cardano projects; others could bring users or capital directly to applications on the network.

The team has not published a list of applicants. The 49 submissions represent proposals received, not projects approved for grants.

Grant Selection Focuses on Delivery and Usage

Applicants must justify the amount requested, describe their costs and team, and show how the work could generate sustained activity. Waisanen identified demand for the product and a credible route to users or liquidity as important parts of that assessment.

AlphaGrowth is also examining whether proposed tools can serve other builders. Waisanen discussed shared standards for DeFi vaults and transaction execution as examples of work that could improve how Cardano applications operate together. He did not announce grant recipients or completed products during the Space.

Public Decisions Will Identify Funded Teams

Cardano PRIME’s published budget totals 120 million ADA, including a separate 35 million ADA allocation for ecosystem grants. A five-member Operating Group oversees major funding recommendations and checks that proposed awards fit the program’s mandate.

Waisanen said AlphaGrowth will name grant recipients and explain its choices, while keeping unsuccessful applications private. An Operating Group member said reasons for any vetoes will also be public. No date for the first awards was given. Those decisions will identify which proposed gaps PRIME has chosen to fund and the grounds for each award.
