Cardano Node 11.1.2 Replaces 11.1.1 for Stake Pool Operators

Stake pool operators that already installed Node 11.1.1 now face another upgrade. Version 11.1.2 is the recommended target across Mainnet, Preprod and Preview for infrastructure that validates blocks and relays ADA transactions.

Cardano Node 11.1.2 Supersedes the Previous Release

Cardano Node 11.1.2 was released on September 17 after testing identified an issue in version 11.1.1. Intersect did not describe the issue in its weekly update, but stated that the new version supersedes its predecessor. Nodes running 11.1.1 are therefore no longer at the recommended baseline.

The patch optimizes memory use when processing time lock scripts. It also updates the protocol version minor field in the block header and includes cardano-cli 11.2.3.0.

System testing results published for Node 11.1.1 remain applicable. Memory consumption during synchronization is slightly higher than in version 11.0.1, but substantially below the regression recorded in 11.1.0. A smaller increase at the chain tip correlates with ledger snapshots.

Node 11.1.2 Carries the 11.1.1 Infrastructure Package

The patch is narrow, but it retains the infrastructure changes introduced with 11.1.1. V1 LedgerDB and the LMDB storage backend have been removed, so operators using LMDB must migrate to a supported alternative.

Ledger snapshots now use a more predictable, Mithril-compatible format. The release line also brings faster transaction forwarding, improved Plutus script validation and initial network and consensus support for Peras. Peras remains disabled by default and is not active on Cardano mainnet.

The same release line completed the removal of the legacy tracing system. Operators moving from the 11.0 series should check monitoring and metrics after installation, while downstream teams must account for breaking changes in cardano-rpc.

Mithril Signer 1.1.9 Becomes Part of the Same Upgrade

Intersect also recommended Mithril 2630.1-hotfix, which includes mithril-signer 1.1.9. The hotfix corrects a bug in version 2630.0 that can prevent signer and aggregator components from fetching blocks and transactions from the chain.

Operators running a Mithril signer have been asked to install both updates as soon as practical. Post-upgrade checks should cover tracing, chain data retrieval and synchronization stability.

Cardano remains in its current ledger era, and the existing rules for processing ADA transactions remain in force. The infrastructure baseline has changed: cardano-node 11.1.2 replaces 11.1.1 as the operator target, while Mithril deployments move to mithril-signer 1.1.9.
