Cardano Goes Live as Blockforce’s Public Proof Layer With 500,000 Records Anchored

Cardano is now operating as the public verification layer for Blockforce’s enterprise traceability platform. More than 500,000 supply chain records are already in production, while signed contracts cover 6.5 million certified records through 2030.

Cardano News - Cardano Goes Live as Blockforce’s Public Proof Layer With 500,000 Records Anchored

Cardano has gone live inside Blockforce’s supply chain infrastructure as the public layer used to verify enterprise records without exposing the commercial data behind them. The system is already running with major Brazilian fashion groups, with more than 500,000 records anchored through the production deployment, according to the Cardano Foundation.

Blockforce is a Brazil-based traceability platform designed for companies that need auditable supply chain records across suppliers, products and regulatory processes. Its implementation combines a private Hyperledger Fabric network with Cardano, separating confidential business information from the proof used to verify that information independently.

Cardano Anchors Proof While Commercial Data Stays Private

Blockforce keeps commercially sensitive information, including supplier identities, contract terms and production volumes, inside its permissioned Hyperledger Fabric network. Those records can be structured into digital product passports and accessed only by authorized participants.

Cardano serves a separate function.

Cryptographic proof of the records is anchored publicly, allowing auditors, regulators and brands to confirm that a record is authentic without gaining access to the underlying private information.

Supply chain information can enter Blockforce through ERP integrations, document uploads or a WhatsApp AI agent built for suppliers without their own digital systems. The platform then structures that information before creating the public proof attached to the record.

The initial production migration included 500,000 certificates, according to the Cardano Foundation case study. That does not represent 500,000 separate Cardano transactions.

Blockforce instead uses a batching architecture capable of placing up to 44 supply chain certificates into a single transaction, while keeping each certificate independently traceable to its source.

Cardano Foundation Reports 92% Lower Verification Cost

Making large volumes of enterprise records publicly verifiable introduces a direct blockchain cost, particularly when certificates are anchored individually.

The Cardano Foundation said joint engineering work with Blockforce reduced the cost per record by 92%, allowing the public verification model to operate at larger production volumes. The announcement does not disclose the previous cost, the resulting cost per record or the detailed calculation behind the reduction.

Batching forms part of the production architecture. By combining as many as 44 certificates into one Cardano transaction, Blockforce can distribute the cost of public anchoring across multiple supply chain records rather than generating a separate transaction for each one.

Azzas 2154 Uses the System for Leather Traceability

Among the companies already using the model is Azzas 2154, which the Cardano Foundation describes as Latin America’s largest fashion group.

Azzas uses Blockforce to trace its leather supply chain by combining fiscal documents, supplier records and official public databases into an auditable product history. Suelen Joner, head of sustainability at Azzas 2154, said the company is targeting traceability for 100% of the leather used across its brands by 2030.

The announced commercial scope extends beyond the current deployment. Signed contracts cover 6.5 million certified records through 2030, according to the Cardano Foundation, although the organization has not disclosed how many customers account for that total or what portion belongs to Azzas 2154.

Expansion is also planned across fashion, automotive, agribusiness, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, while the Foundation’s case study separately references preparation for automotive, food and beverage, and cosmetics. Those sectors are described as expansion targets rather than confirmed Cardano deployments.

Blockforce now has Cardano embedded in a live enterprise traceability workflow rather than reserved for a future deployment. The first production migration covered 500,000 certificates, while contracted volumes extend to roughly 6.5 million certification anchors through 2030, giving the public proof layer a defined commercial workload beyond the initial rollout.
