Cardano News - Cardano Foundation Launches Research Exchange

The Cardano Foundation has announced Research Exchange, a recurring online series covering completed studies, ongoing projects, and future research directions. The first session is scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2026, at 13:00 UTC.

First Research Exchange: Program and Speakers

Manvir Schneider, Senior Research Scientist, and Juan Beccuti, a researcher in economics and blockchain governance, will lead the opening session, titled “Introduction to Cardano Foundation Research.”

They will review the Foundation’s research to date, explain current projects, and outline planned work. Community members and fellow researchers can contribute questions, provide feedback, and suggest topics for future consideration.

Research Behind Cardano Governance

An example of the speakers’ work is “Rewarding Informed Voting in PoS Governance,” a preprint Beccuti and Schneider submitted on October 6. It examines how reward design can encourage delegated representatives, or DReps, to invest effort in assessing proposals and vote according to their informed judgments.

On Cardano, ADA holders can delegate voting power to DReps, whose decisions can concern protocol changes and the allocation of ADA from the network’s treasury.

The study compares ways to distribute a limited reward budget and identifies conditions that can support greater effort and more accurate decisions. It also outlines a possible implementation path for Cardano, while acknowledging that improved voting outcomes are not guaranteed.

The paper provides context for the researchers’ work. The opening session’s published agenda covers the broader research program without listing it as a separate presentation.

Research Exchange Registration and Calendar

The October 19 meeting will take place through Google Meet, with registration available on the event’s Luma page.

A dedicated CF Research Exchange calendar is available through AddEvent. Subscribers will receive future sessions in their calendar applications as organizers add them to the series.
