Cardano News - Audited Cardano Constitutional Committee Results Confirm Four Candidates for On-Chain Update

Intersect has published the audited results of Cardano’s 2026 Constitutional Committee election, confirming the same four candidates that led the preliminary standings after DRep voting closed on July 23. The 2026 election covers four of the Committee’s seven seats, with the verified result forming the basis for the next on-chain governance step.

Audit Confirms the Four Leading Cardano CC Candidates

Philip DiSarro finished with approximately 2.0 billion ada in voting power from 24 DReps, while Leandros BSP also reached approximately 2.0 billion ada with support from 23 DReps.

Marek Mahut of deliberative.cc followed with approximately 1.4 billion ada across 28 DReps, while Cardano Curia secured the fourth qualifying position with approximately 1.3 billion ada and 27 DRep votes.

Asia Africa Cardano Coalition finished fifth with approximately 1.1 billion ada in voting power, leaving the four candidates identified in the preliminary results unchanged after the audit.

Four of Seven Constitutional Committee Seats Are Being Renewed

The 2026 election concerns four seats on Cardano’s seven-member Constitutional Committee as their current terms approach expiration.

The Committee forms part of Cardano’s on-chain governance checks and balances. Its role is to assess whether applicable governance actions comply with the Cardano Constitution, rather than deciding them according to broader political or economic preferences.

Intersect structured the election around DRep voting, with participants able to support up to four candidates. The four highest-ranked candidates then form the basis of the subsequent Update Committee action.

Election Result Moves Into Cardano’s On-Chain Process

The audited election does not by itself change the Committee’s on-chain membership.

A separate Update Committee governance action is the mechanism used to add or remove Constitutional Committee members and define their terms. Under Cardano’s governance rules, the action is decided on-chain by DReps and stake pool operators, while the Constitutional Committee does not vote on changes to its own membership.

DiSarro, Leandros, Mahut and Cardano Curia have now passed both the DRep vote and the audit. The remaining step is the Update Committee governance action that can formally place the 2026 election result into Cardano’s on-chain governance structure.
