Arc enter production with USDC fees, institutional validators and subsecond settlement. Cardano dey access Circle liquidity through USDCx while e still keep im own proof of stake architecture.

Cardano News - Arc vs Cardano: Two Stablecoin Settlement Models

Circle launch the public mainnet of Arc on September 16 with more than 100 applications and over 100 institutional and ecosystem participants. The release give Circle a dedicated Layer 1 settlement network wey stand side by side with blockchains like Cardano, wey connect to Circle through xReserve without adopting Arc’s validator or execution model.

Circle Launches Arc Mainnet

Arc’s founding validator cohort include BlackRock, DTCC, ICE, Mastercard, Standard Chartered, Visa, MoneyGram and SBI Group.

The network currently dey use a permissioned validator set wey dey operate under a proof of authority model. Arc still include sanctions controls for the validator level as part of infrastructure wey dem design for banks, payment companies and regulated financial institutions.

Arc dey compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, so existing Solidity applications and development tools fit connect without needing new technology stack. Aave, Morpho, Uniswap and several major wallet, custody and blockchain infrastructure providers dey inside the initial ecosystem.

Circle don confirm say Arc’s selective privacy features still dey under development. The current mainnet mainly introduce stablecoin settlement, institutional validation, Circle payment products and developer tools.

Arc and Cardano Use Different Network Models

Arc and Cardano both support publicly accessible applications, but dem dey use different validation and governance structures.

Arc currently depend on selected group of known validators. Circle dey explore transition toward proof of stake in 2027 and don complete the genesis mint of 10 billion ARC tokens. Dem never publicly launch the token, and network fees still dey paid in USDC.

Cardano already dey operate as open proof of stake network where independent stake pool operators dey produce blocks. ADA dey used for transaction fees, staking and governance, while Cardano’s extended UTXO architecture different from Arc’s EVM model.

Arc dey provide controlled network foundation wey dem design around institutional requirements. Cardano allow broader participation for network validation without limiting block production to predefined group of financial institutions.

USDCx Connects Cardano to Circle Liquidity

Cardano dey connect to Circle’s stablecoin infrastructure through USDCx and the xReserve system.

Circle’s xReserve dey hold USDC inside smart contract and allow partner blockchain to issue im own stablecoin wey USDC reserves back on one to one basis. Cardano dey listed among the networks wey dey use this model.

USDCx different from native USDC wey Circle dey issue directly. The token dey deployed through the partner blockchain’s infrastructure, while xReserve dey provide reserve backing, attestations and crosschain liquidity transfers without relying on conventional third party bridge.

Arc’s launch add Circle led route for stablecoin settlement, supported by integrated liquidity products and institutional validators. Cardano remain outside that validation perimeter, dey use USDCx to access Circle backed liquidity while e keep fees, block production and application execution for im own network.
