AlphaGrowth Audit Map how Cardano DeFi strong reach and where infrastructure still get gap
The first phase of Cardano PRIME assess 25 production categories using the same framework wey dem apply to Ethereum and Sui. Cardano score strong for developer infrastructure, but market structure, incentives, derivatives and liquidity management na the biggest capability gaps.

AlphaGrowth don publish one 78-page assessment of the Cardano DeFi ecosystem, give am overall tier-weighted score of 51.3 out of 100. Ethereum score 96.3 under the same framework, while Sui receive 72.3. The report na the completed Phase 1 deliverable of Cardano PRIME and e provide baseline to select infrastructure projects and implementation paths under the Treasury-funded program.
Cardano PRIME Assesses 25 Production Categories
AlphaGrowth officially describe the document as the Cardano DeFi Ecosystem Audit. E no be financial or security audit wey dem conduct under external assurance standard, but na strategic assessment of Cardano current DeFi capabilities.
The review cover 25 categories across five groups: chain access and data, builder platforms, user and asset rails, DeFi primitives and infrastructure for incentives and risk management.
Each category dem assess am across coverage, redundancy, capability, adoption and maintenance. The five dimensions get different weightings depending on whether the category relate to infrastructure or DeFi. Infrastructure scores place greater weight on availability and independent alternatives, while DeFi categories give more weight to actual adoption.
The framework still assign three tiers based on how directly one category affect capital deployment. Tier 1 categories carry the largest weight for the overall result, followed by Tier 2 and Tier 3. Cardano unweighted average na 53.5, while the tier-weighted score fall to 51.3 because several lower-rated categories directly govern how capital dey move and how dem allocate am.
Only production capabilities contribute to the scores. Testnet implementations, announced products, projects wey still dey development and features wey dem no fit publicly verify dem record am separately but dem exclude am from the result. Dem collect the underlying data between August 13 and August 22, 2026.
Cardano Builder Infrastructure Lead for the Assessment
The builder platform na Cardano highest-rated group with score of 69.1. Smart contract languages, SDKs and libraries receive 81.3, the only individual category wey pass the report 75-point threshold for reach or near benchmark parity.
AlphaGrowth identify eleven production languages, SDKs and libraries wey span Haskell, TypeScript, Python, Rust, Java and Scala. Documentation and developer onboarding score 72.5, while security infrastructure wey cover audits, bug bounties and incident response receive 68.8.
Chain access and data still give Cardano some stronger results. Block explorers score 68.8, while node, RPC and API providers, indexers and data pipelines each receive 66.3. Stablecoin infrastructure still rate 66.3, with spot DEXs and lending markets both scoring 61.3.
Lower results concentrate for infrastructure wey dey support more complex capital deployment. Order books, concentrated liquidity and market structure receive 27.5. Incentive and points infrastructure score 28.8, derivatives and options receive 30.0, and yield vaults, liquid staking products and automated yield management score 36.3.
Bridges and cross-chain messaging receive 41.3, RWA and tokenization score 42.5, and multisig, smart account and Treasury tooling receive 43.8. Wallet infrastructure score 50.0, with the report identify say production wallet wey combine Cardano and EVM access inside the same user environment never dey.
The assessment still record existing Cardano-specific capabilities. Collateralized ADA fit continue to generate staking rewards, synthetic representations of Bitcoin and Ether fit operate as native assets, and Cardano native tokens no require separate approval transactions before dem interact with applications.
Eight Core Gaps Move Enter PRIME Implementation
AlphaGrowth identify eight core gaps: a reliable EVM to Cardano bridge, a combined EVM and Cardano wallet, an advanced incentive campaign engine, a shared executor or scooper standard, a unified vault standard, customizable money markets, concentrated liquidity and automated liquidity management.
These findings go guide the next phase of PRIME, wey mean Protocol Readiness, Incentives, and Market Expansion. The 12-month program target more than $200 million in new qualifying TVL by expanding Cardano DeFi infrastructure and improving im ability to attract and retain external capital.
Cardano governance authorize one Treasury withdrawal of 120 million ADA for the program. AlphaGrowth serve as the operator, one Operating Group dey review recommendations and fit reject proposed allocations, and Intersect act as the constitutional administrator wey dey responsible to execute approved payments.
Authorization of the Treasury withdrawal no mean say dem don distribute the full amount to projects. Approximately 90 million ADA still remain behind the Phase 3 release gate, wey require approval from at least three of the five Operating Group members after the program first four months.
RFP applications open on September 9, before the completed audit publish. AlphaGrowth fit recommend different implementation routes for each identified gap, including developing new infrastructure, purchasing existing technology, issuing grants, establishing external partnerships or preparing separate governance actions. No individual protocol payments from the PRIME program don yet publicly confirm.
The audit no assess historical Catalyst or Treasury allocations and e no conclude say earlier funding go to wrong projects. Im role start with the current production environment, provide 25 comparable category scores and eight defined infrastructure gaps. The next phase of PRIME go connect those gaps with selected teams, delivery milestones and measurable requirements wey must complete before dem release additional program capital.
